What Our Clients Say:

Martina Stevens - Student

"I can honestly say that in the two years I’ve been taking lessons at Straight Path Horses, every lesson has been profitable and enjoyable. Each lesson yields something new that furthers both my horsemanship skills and life skills, such as patience and confidence. The learning environment couldn’t be more encouraging, and Whitney’s instruction is easy to follow. I look forward to learning much more under his knowledgeable teaching."

"In April 2016 Whitney Sewell, of Straight Path Horses, a person I had never met, sent me a video of an 11 year old mare named Zip. It is still on his website.
I was truly amazed at the level of training and desensitizing of that mare. My wife and I hooked up the trailer and headed to Roanoke, Va. When I could see first hand how Zip worked effortlessly on the ground and from the saddle for Whitney I had to try it all myself. She worked just as well for me. On the ground, in the saddle in the arena and over over the woods and through the creeks. I bought the mare and picked her up about 5 am the next morning. She loaded instantly and we had an uneventful, but exciting trip back to Morgantown, WV. About 9 hours of travel.
I have had more than two dozen horses. Zip is the jewel! Quiet, but always alert. Quiet, but ready to walk, trot, lope or gallop. Your choice. But always under easy control.
I have dealt with a lot of "horse traders", but Whitney rises to the top of those working with horses. Not only is he a great trainer-he is straight up honest.
I have had more fun and ridden more miles on this mare with the kind eye and friendly personality than any horse in a long time. She is always at the gate or just a whistle away. I am 71, but feel like a kid on this mare. The only thing is I need another just like her. Whitney is working on that."

"I am Blessed and thankful to have met Whitney a couple years ago at the SEFHA colt starting. He is a kind and awesome trainer and was able to find the perfect horse for me, Dee. Whitney worked with me and Dee so we could learn each other and helped build my confidence so much. She's everything I need and want, calm, brave, gentle, thinks through situations she's put in. Awesome horse!!"
